Space-Time Adaptive Processing Based on Unequally spaced Antenna Arrays

چکیده
It is known that the spatial correlation between the desired signal and the undesired signals is an important parameter in adaptive array processing. In this paper, we consider the adaptive antenna of mobile communications under space-time adaptive processing (STAP), where user signals are of multipath rays with different delays, and the space-time correlation functions are employed instead of the conventional spatial correlation coefficients. The analysis results show that the array configuration has the significant effect on the associated space-time correlation functions, so as to play an important role in the STAP schemes. According to the results, a criterion is proposed to design unequally spaced linear arrays. Simulation results show that the STAP with well-designed unequally spaced linear arrays outperform the associated equally spaced linear arrays.

Development a New Technique Based on Least Square Method to Synthesize the Pattern of Equally Space Linear Arrays
Using the sampled data of a desired pattern is a common technique in pattern synthesizing of array factor (AF) of antenna arrays. Based on the obtained data matrix, Least Square Method (LSM) is used to calculate the exciting coefficient of array elements. The most important parameter, which involves the accuracy and complexity of calculation, is the sampling rate of the desired pattern. Classic...
متن کاملOn the Optimum Directivity of Uniformly Spaced Broadside Arrays of Parallel Half-Wave Dipoles (RESEARCH NOTES)
The nominal directivity for uniformly spaced broadside parallel half-wave dipoles associated with a uniform excitation is evaluated. The amplitude distribution for an optimized directivity is then obtained for different numbers of elements with the separations between the dipoles as a variable. The optimum and nominal directivities are compared for different spacings of the elements. While thes...
متن کاملReduction of Sidelobes by Nonuniform Elements Spacing of a Spherical Antenna Array
This paper presents a significant sidelobe reduction if nonuniform elevational spacing of antenna elements on the sphere is used. Antenna elements are progressively phased with a uniform amplitude excitation. The calculation of the required element position is presented. The achieved sidelobe level reduction with unequally spaced arrays could reach even more than 20dB difference with regard to ...
متن کاملSynthesis of unequally Spaced Antenna Arrays by a new Differential Evolutionary Algorithm
The differential evolution (DE) algorithm with a new differential mutation base strategy, namely best of random, is applied to the synthesis of unequally spaced antenna arrays. In the best of random mutation strategy, the best individual among three randomly chosen individuals is used as the mutation base while the other two are for the vector difference. Hence a good balance of diversity and e...

Space Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) applied on signal received from different configurations of real elements using D3LS (Direct Data Domain Least Squares). We will discuss the impact of each typical element-missing on the performance of this approach and the precision of the estimated strength of the SOI. We are interested in five different antenna configurations which are uniform linear equ...
